A nursery rhyme is a traditional song or poem taught
to young children, originally in the nursery. Learning such a verse assists in
the development of vocabulary, and several examples deal with rudimentary
counting skills. It also encourages children to enjoy music. In addition,
specific actions, motions, or dances are often associated with particular songs.
Many cultures feature children's songs and verses that are passed down by
oral tradition from one generation to the next (either from parent to child or
from older children to younger children). In the English language, the term
nursery rhyme generally refers to those of European origin, and the best known
examples are English and originated in or since the 17th century. Their origins
were possibly a form of oral political cartoon from an era when dissenting
speech could get the speaker imprisoned. Nursery rhymes, however, are often
violent in nature; for example, in "Jack and Jill", Jack fell down and "broke
his crown" i.e., injuring his head so that it bled.
Some nursery rhymes, however, are substantially older. "Sing a Song of Sixpence"
exists in written records as far back as the Middle Ages. Some well-known
nursery rhymes originated in the United States, such as "Mary Had a Little
Lamb".

The word cartoon has various meanings, based on
several very different forms of visual art and illustration. The term has
evolved over time.
The original meaning was in fine art, and there cartoon meant a preparatory
drawing for a piece of art such as a painting or tapestry.
The somewhat more modern meaning was that of humorous illustrations in magazines
and newspapers. Even more recently there are now several contemporary meanings,
including creative visual work for print media, for electronic media, and even
animated films and animated digital media.
When the word cartoon is applied to print media, it most often refers to a
humorous single-panel drawing or gag cartoon, most of which have captions and do
not use speech balloons. The word cartoon is not often used to refer to a comic
strip.
An animated cartoon is a short, hand-drawn (or made
with computers to look similar to something hand-drawn) film for the
cinema, television or computer screen, featuring some kind of story or
plot (even if it is a very short one). This is distinct from the term
"animation" or "animated film", as not all follow the definition.

A nursery school is a school for children between the
ages of three and five, staffed by qualified teachers and other professionals
who encourage and supervise educational play rather than simply providing
childcare. It is generally considered part of early childhood education. In some
jurisdictions the provision of nursery school services is on a user pays or
limited basis while some governments fund nursery school services
In INDIA kindergartens are divided into two
stages - lower kindergarten (LKG) and upper kindergarten (UKG).
Typically, an LKG class would comprise children 3 to 4 years of age, and
the UKG class would comprise children 4 to 5 years of age. After
finishing upper kindergarten, a child enters Class 1 (or, Standard 1) of
primary school. Often kindergarten is an integral part of regular
schools, though there is a marked trend towards exclusive prep schools.
In the UK, pre-school education in nursery
classes or schools is fully funded by the government and is generally
available to children aged over three. Pre-school education can be
provided by childcare centres, playgroups, nursery schools and nursery
classes within primary schools. Private nursery education is also
available throughout the UK and varies between structured pre-school
education and a service offering child-minding facilities.
In the United States, nursery school is
provided in a variety of settings. In general pre-school is meant to
develop children through planned programs.
Pre-school is defined as: "centre-based programs for four-year olds that
are fully or partially funded by state education agencies and that are
operated in schools or under the direction of state and local education
agencies".
